Tips for traveling with your furry friend

If you’ve never traveled with your pup before, there are a few things to know before you go. A little prep ensures a lot of rewards, so ensure that the journey will be comfortable for everyone by following the tips below.

1. Consider how you’ll travel

Traveling with every passenger’s comfort in mind, including your dog. Longer trips require more space, so while your pup might be fine in your car or SUV when going to the pet store, they may not feel the same when driving across the country.

If you’re traveling a longer distance than usual, it’s best to upgrade your vehicle. Not only will your dog feel better, but so will your passengers. Our rental vans are spacious and comfortable, with plenty of leg and paw room. Before booking, discover which van size is right for you and your furry friend.

2. Keep your dog comfortable

Aside from more space, your dog might need more relief stops. Not only is it the perfect excuse to explore more of the region, it’s a great way to keep your circulation flowing.

Check the map ahead of time to see if you’d like to check out any towns or roadside attractions. Your dog will be grateful, and you’ll have the chance to see more of the beautiful country.

3. Double-check your itinerary

Avoid any unforeseen hiccups by confirming and reconfirming that dogs are welcome at all hotels, restaurants, and activities you plan to visit. Before you leave, quickly call each location to establish their current pet policy and adjust if needed.

Bring your dog along for the ride

The joy of bringing your furry companion on a road trip adventure is hard to beat. Few things in life are more wonderful than hiking through the mountains and enjoying a cold, local brew afterward with your pup by your side.

Luckily for us, traveling with pets has never been easier. Plan the trip with your companion in mind, and you’ll find that there are more places to go with your dog than ever before.
