National parks are excellent places to go with dogs, and Acadia National Park is among the best. Over 100 miles of trails are available to explore, and a free, dog-friendly bus takes riders around the park and the island itself.
Check out trails like Precipice Trail, Champlain Mountain & Beehive Loop Trail, and Gorham Mountain Trail. Campgrounds like Blackwoods and Seawall welcome pets for overnight visits. Just outside the National Park border is Little Long Pond, a 1,000-acre park where dogs can run free.
There is one restaurant within the park’s limits and good news — pets are welcome! Guests to Acadia National Park have been lining up for the amazing views and popovers at Jordan Pond House since 1893. If you’re traveling in the summer, don’t miss ‘tea on the lawn,’ a delightful tradition that has continued for over 40 years.

2. Cape Cod, Massachusetts
